In 1977, Bill MacDonald opened the doors of Warrenville Paint & Hardware to the residents of Warren. Founded on the principle of providing friendly and personalized customer service, Bill modeled the store after the "Mom & Pop" shops he grew up with, and simply intended to offer hardware, tools and yard care products. He quickly learned that what he built had become a community for contractors and DIYers in the neighborhood, and as the needs of the community began to grow, so did the store.
Warrenville Hardware has more than doubled in size since the day it opened and continues to evolve its offerings today. The Design Center and In-Home Design Consultant have even helped the store become a trusted place for customers to realize their decor and renovation ideas.
Though the store has seen some transformation over the years, it remains committed to its promise of friendly and personalized service for all patrons with both residential and commercial needs. Bill has always listened to his customers and community, making sure he's able to offer necessities when they're needed most — through disasters like Hurricane Sandy and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Come visit today and you'll see Bill helping his customers in person, over 40 years later. That's not something you'll find at a big box store.
